Writing an Explanation Text: What is a plant?
A plant is a living organism. All plants need air,Water,Nutrients and sunlight to live. Plants are so important to life on earth that without them we would not be able to survive! Plants produce the oxygen in the air we breathe. Helping animals to stay alive. Are special on the cellular level.
They are always made of more than one cell meaning there are no single celled plants. One special part of a plant cell is the cell wall gives them their structure. Without the cell walls, tall trees, cactus and even small flowers would not be able to stand up!
Many plants are easy to recognise by their green leaves, in fact, most plants are green or have green parts. This green colour is caused by another special part of their cells called the chloroplasts. The chloroplasts contain chlorophyll
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create oxygen and energy in the form of sugar.
Photosynthesis is a process in which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy.
During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.
